Hi, I’m Taylor, mom and founder of The Original Sunshirt Company!
When it came to protecting my kids from the sun, I kept running into the same problems: chemical-filled sunscreens that had to be reapplied constantly, and synthetic plastic shirts that didn’t feel good against their skin.
I knew there had to be something better — something safer, easier, and more natural.
Enter The Original Sunshirt.
Our sunshirts are made from naturally sourced fabrics you can feel good about. They are designed to be lightweight, breathable, quick-drying, and simple for busy families.
These UPF 50 shirts are tough enough for long beach days, soft enough for everyday play, light weight for travel, and protective enough to give you peace of mind — in and out of the water.
I made these with my own kids in mind, and I hope your family loves them as much as we do.

About Our Shirts
The Sunshirt
Our sunshirts are made from a premium blend of natural cotton and TENCEL™ — a plant-based fiber derived from sustainably harvested wood pulp. This ultra-soft, breathable fabric keeps kids cool and comfortable while offering natural UPF 50+ sun protection. Unlike synthetic fabrics, our cotton-TENCEL blend is completely free of plastic, won’t shed chemicals or microplastics, and is 100% biodegradable. It’s everything you want in a sunshirt: safe for sensitive skin, tough on UV rays, and gentle on the planet.
